Our story
A chef who wanted to cook for neighbors, not critics.
Mara Lindqvist spent twelve years in tasting-menu kitchens where every plate was a performance and nobody knew a guest's name. In 2017 she took over a shuttered bakery on the neighborhood's main corner, kept the brick oven, built a hearth beside it and opened with nine tables and one rule: cook what is in season, over fire, for people who will come back.
Nine years and roughly 54 menus later, the rule has not moved. Mara still writes every menu by hand at the bar on Monday mornings.
